Custom ICF Homes and Pools

Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) In-Person Training Seminar

February 27 – March 1 (Kingsland, GA)

Discover the intricacies of ICF pool construction with the guidance of our seasoned professional, Aaron King. Uncover the step-by-step procedures, innovative techniques, and industry best practices that make ICF pool construction a standout choice for durability, energy efficiency, and design flexibility.

This event is off-site in Georgia (East Coast). This is not at our main location in Springfield, MO. There are pools sites we do in Springfield that we can’t replicate out of town. But, due to demand and timing this training will also have lots of hands on skills. The training is tailored to accelerate your ICF pool building capabilities.

Once you attend an out-of-town training, you are welcome to drop into a future Springfield, MO training to see local ICF pools and projects you missed!

Syllabus includes:

  • Basic installation limits and best practices
  • Learn about the different bracing systems pros and cons
  • Hands-on demo of both zonts and conventional bracing
  • Hands-on demo of a concrete monopour with fab-form system
  • Fast foot monopour system pros and cons

Day 1: Bracing Systems in Detail

Join us at Rost’s new warehouse at 9:00 a.m. to explore bracing supplies from fab form and giraffe. Though the training monopour won’t use every product, we’ll cover bracing systems in detail, and Rost offers special deals on bracing and pool kits. Aaron and Austin (from Rost) will delve into concrete mix design, additives, reinforcement, testing, and liability for a couple of hours. After lunch, training at Aaron’s shop will focus on preparing a small monolithic pour pool, constructing walls with build block hardwall forms on fab form monopour legs, including plumbing penetrations. The day concludes at 4:00 p.m., with Aaron available for questions afterward.

Day 2Forming the Pool

Meet at Aaron’s shop at 9:00 a.m. We’ll finish forming the pool in the morning, aiming to pour around noon with pizza on-site for lunch. You can be as involved as you like during the pour. While videos and pictures are encouraged, please avoid filming when Aaron’s Amish crew is present. We anticipate finishing in time for a site visit to one of Aaron’s completed projects, discussing equipment and finishes. On Friday night, join us for a site visit and BBQ in Aaron’s backyard, where he has a unique ICF plunge pool with cool features, to review.

Day 3: MonopurTM of the Hard Walls

Meet at the shop at 9:00 a.m. We’ll strip the monopour hard walls, assess the pour quality, and discuss preparations for ecoFINISH or other plaster products. Additionally, we’ll install a liner on a small 8 x 16 pool for hands-on experience, emphasizing its simplicity and high-profit margins. Aaron recommends starting with liners if your market (location) supports them. The day includes demonstrations of the ecoFINISH process and skin micro plaster for a comprehensive understanding of quality finishes on ICF pools. We aim to conclude the day with another insightful site visit.

Day 4: Flex Day

Day 4 is a flexible weather contingency day. By the end of Day 3, we aim to cover all essential content, and Aaron will be available for one-on-one discussions and revisits. Last year, we trained nearly 70 people—some for personal pool projects and others who established successful pool businesses. Aaron is enthusiastic about this training format and looks forward to many more sessions in the future!
